Uno won the Westminster Kennel Club

Uno won the best in show on the Westminster Kennel Club. Uno moved into Monday night's judging in the hound group. The best in show award has been presented 100 times by the Westminster Kennel Club. He is nearly 3, tri-colored and 15-inchs with pleading, golden-brown eyes and plenty of tail-wagging personality, is came with his favorite stuffed frog toy and the fluffy pillow he sleeps on. Uno could break out of the Westminster doghouse. No beagle has even won the hound group since 1939.

Amazed, this is over the news. I had a thought, there are over 150 breeds entered in this show every year. The announcer always says, during the judging, "The judge is looking for the one dog that epitomizes the breed." When I think about it, I wonder why, out of all those breeds, are essentially the same ones picked? I bet there are over 100 breeds that have never been picked for best in group, let alone best in show. Why is that? Have all of those thousands of breeders never been able to produce a close to perfect dog? Or is it perhaps bias at work, and is the whole thing just political?

I already finished my six assignments for the week 3, so finally I could take one day break in this weekend. It’s 40F today, was snowing this morning, but sunny and warm in afternoon. Don and I put on the ski outfit and ready to go to Blue Mountain, it only takes us 40 minutes drove to there. We rented ski and ski boots, the ski boots took me sweating to put it on and barely walk to the ski slopes.

They have varieties of ski slopes, such as snowboarding rails, ski jumping platform and beginner slope; where I will be, hmmm. Most part of the snow is made artificial, since not much snow recently. It’s five-thirty, we’ve been skiing for one hour but I already fall thousand times. We dump on the ski lift on the way to the mountaintop, a little foggy and hazy, all the lights are on, snowy white lay out the mountain gloriously, what a wonderful and romantic night.

Its Sunday morning, I got off bed like if I had play thirty-six hole yesterday. I felt my whole body sore, pain and bruise everywhere form the thousand of times rolling down the hill; however, I love ski and I will go more often then.

Snow-goose

I never saw so many Snow-goose in my entire life, it was significant shots. A afternoon, we heard an incredible noise from the thousands of the snow-goose was flying toward our property and then resting on it. I bought my camera and walked over there, but we were too close, them flew away, no chance to take a shoot when they were landing on the ground............however, it was a country experienced.

“China Pesticide-Tainted Dumpling Poison 175 Japanese.” (Bloomberg, Feb.1, 2008) This is over the news now, a five years old girl’s life on the line, eight people had suspected and175 Japanese sickened by the pesticides dumplings made in China, exported US$56.7 billion to of food to Japan last year. The dumplings, known as “Gyoza” in Japan are being recalled by Japan Tobacco Inc. and Maruha Corp. in the latest quality scandal involving China.

Not long ago, I couldn’t remember the exactly date, a reported news I heard form my brother- China industrials not only made fake eggs by dying which appearance the same but tests artificially after cooked. Can you picture that? But also found fungicides in fish, pet food put lots of dogs to sleep and toys hurts children. People thought that Chinese were either cunning or thick; I have no idea!

Back to the poison dumpling, Japanese government says there might be negative impact on Japan-China ties. China’s humiliation really makes people scared to by anything “Made in China” This would take million of years to mend China’s reputation.

Proposing day

It came with a light blue box and warped up with a white silky ribbon. I open it up, was a tiny square box, a 2.15 carat brilliant ring with cushion-cut creation with spirit, fire and style. "Would you marry me?" Said Don. I felt like icing on the cake in all the sudden and forgot what should I say...........Yes! I do, honey.......We drove 1/2 hours to a French restaurant and celebrated it. A famous chef was cooking lobsters in form of the table, and making a fire show to attracted others eye to stare at the table, yet the chef was not cooking us; I hope it was. I said to Don, hey! that special treatment supposed for our engaged day, he said, ya.....I know.......but forgot.........well.

After smashing pies and flying saucers, Don and I finally got a lovely home in PA. It only takes us within 1/2 hours drive from Manhattan. We spend mostly every weekend out there. In summer, we could go for a bik rid around our 14 acres land or rid down the hill to get freash farm tomoto and corn cook it on grill, and then
swimming at night...........

Frick Collection

This is second time I went to the Frick Collection; it is an art museum located 1 E. 70 ST in Manhattan and designed by Thomas Hastings; constructed in 1913-1914. Henry Clay Frick, was the former residence in this house, was a famous steel industry.

The Frick is one of the preeminent small art museums in the US, with high quality collection of old master paintings housed in 16 galleries, many of them arranged according to Frick’s design. What impressed me were the two large Chinese porcelains Covered Jars with French Gilt-Bronze Mounts; became very popular in French that Mr. Frick purchased at the early 19 centuries for his house. I realized how the Chinese antique had been treasured up in 100 years from now.

Why people wants to visit the Frick Museum one of the reasons because he owns unique paintings. This is one of the unique paintings, Johannes Vermeer, 1632-75, Dutch. Officer and Laughing Girl, c 1655-60 of about Thirty-Five paintings accepted as original works by Vermeer, The Frick Collection owns three.

I bought a postcard which is one of the paintings in his house by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, 1841-1919, French. Mother and Children, Renoir’s first painting of a theme he would treat often is a masterpiece of his Impressionist period. I do enjoy this Museum and recommended if you guys into arts, you do not want to miss The Frick Museum.
